Our Scholarship Program
Foundation Escalera endeavors to bring hope to Mexico’s rising generation through a scholarship program assisting students to attend the high school Benemérito de las Américas in Mexico City. In Spanish, the word escalera means ladder. This name symbolizes of our desire to help lift the young out of the debilitating and vicious cycle of ignorance and poverty.
Fund Raising
As a Non-Profit entity, all donations and expeditions are tax deductible. There are a several to help: Sponsor a student, donate to our endowment, provide a bicycle or other transportation for a student, join an expedition, or donate to build a classroom. Our humanitarian expeditions are rewarding experiences mixed with adventure and education – they are great for families, individuals, corporate groups and couples.
School Building Program
Searching for potential students in different areas in Mexico, we discovered young people in the state of Chiapas that were not able to qualify due to the lack of secondary (junior high) schools and the language barrier. We felt compelled to help bridge the gap and have started building schools in the rural areas that used to be part of Guatemala.
Spread the Word
Every expedition we complete means another school and many more children who can attend Benemérito. Help us expand and grow by telling your friends, family and co-workers about our foundation. Invite them to come on an expedition – it’s a great alternate to a traditional vacation, much more rewarding – and it’s tax deductible!
